Man has the lawn ALL cut!!

We have limbs down, most are insignificant, but there is one in the front that's still stuck 30 foot up in the tree. Gonna be an issue.

After walking 5252 steps unloading in the humidity and with a kink in my back, I gave up last night and drank beer!

And, so, today, we return to unpacking and settling in.

It was a great trip, I think Man said 5,000 miles?? 4 Canadian provinces, 7 states? Let's see: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan.

Now, that unloading, and laundry! OH, wow, do I have laundry. Must have been a vaca - - -

(Oh, the limb came down fairly easily. We should be so lucky to have all big limbs come down so easy. Two yanks from Man. I helped yank on pull number 2. Bam. Slid right out. Only held on by that thin thread.)

August 18, 2016 - - Walking OVER the NY Thruway

Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016

Walking cross the NY Thruway for lunch.  You park on one side and hoof it over to the other via a raised and enclosed walkway.  Looking down on the cars speeding by is kinda unnerving and weird and fun.

August 17, 2016 - - Letchworth State Park

Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016

We went to Letchworth State Park today. Voted the best state park in the US in 2015.  Did not see the lower falls, but, we did see the middle and upper falls.

There is a dam at the north end of the park.

Considered the Grand Canyon of the east (or something like that)

Middle falls. Behind, way back, Upper falls. (ya, I know, you can't really see them, but, they are there.)

Middle falls.

Middle falls. Locals told us the water is way down. Do you see the Indian face profile? Usually is hidden behind water flow.

Middle falls.

Face, middle falls.

Upper falls. They are replacing the train bridge. Three year project.

Upper falls. Man said he thinks this may be the prettiest falls he has seen. Love the different plateaus and levels.

We pull out of here tomorrow. We plan a 2 day run back to the stick built. Tomorrow we have a stop planned with full hookups to do a bit of cleaning of the tanks.

August 16, 2016 - - Watch For Low Bridges

Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016

When driving in Upper New York State, you need to be VERY aware of bridge clearances, especially when your height is 13 foot 4 foot. Just saying, you might not want to try this with a Tana.  This was all near Warsaw, New York.

Going east:

Seriously, they try to warn ya.

Going west:

And, it was quite steep and curvy.

August 15, 2016 - - Niagara Falls, American Style

Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016

We would rather take a rest day, BUT, today is the best of the 3 we will be here, weather wise. SOOO, we are gonna get back in Jolly and drive.

We are going to go to Niagara Falls USA. We have never been to the US side, so, we are going to. Cause - -

~~~~
We are very glad we drove the almost 65 miles ONE way to see the US Niagara Falls. Traffic was heavy, human and vehicle. We grabbed the first parking spot we could find. Been nice if we could have found it on the way back. SNORT. Yea, we got turned around.
But, we managed to get back to Jolly only 9 minutes late on the parking fee. We did NOT find a parking ticket under the wiper blades either.
We were able to back out of the parking spot and dodge (ha ha ha, some will get that play on words) over a block and not have to deal with all the one way roads around the falls.
We did not walk all of the park, but, we did see a lot. Hopefully the photos are good. I'll look later.
Yep, we are tired, but, the weather held. Ya us!
~~~~

I was asked to take a photo for a guy. Him and his dad. So I did.

In return Man asked him to snap us. And he did.

Niagara Falls, US.

Look for rainbow, at least one photo has one.

August 14, 2016 - - On to Warsaw New York

Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016

Moving on this morning. Next stop near the Buffalo area.

We drove through the area where the Madison Bouckville Antique Week is held.  Gracious! Largest mess of tents and flea market we have ever seen.  We did not stop. Makes Shipshee look small. (Shipshewana, Indiana).  Amazing.

~~~~
Drove a long while on 20 in New York.  With an eye to the low bridges.
~~~~

Arrived. LONG day. Pretty ride.

Connectivity - jury out.

~~~~
No photos.  I think I was too busy watching the maps for low bridges.
August 13, 2016 - - Scotia Library
Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016
Another hot and humid day. Forecast for today, feels like 98-103.
And we are sleeping in.
And the air is running. Ran in the middle of the night. That's never a good thing.
We have only needed a bit of furnace or electric heaters a few nights/early mornings this trip. Ooooo. It's summer? Lol
We thank Mr. Carrier every day for his air conditioning stuff!
~~~~

Oh, fun, full sun and loud thunder. Ya Mother Nature!

~~~~
We are in Scotia New York. Man found a reference to this house. Reportedly built 1713 it is now a library.
We went in and Man got us a guided tour. Librarian took us to basement and upstairs too. I'm sure most people do not get into these areas very often.
Nothing has been done to the upper levels since about mid 1950's when last family moved out. It was fab! The wall paper on the 3rd floor was fab. Even on the ceiling.
In the basement you could see the different size of stones used for foundation. And the area where the cows were brought in during cold weather to be milked. Door was still there. You could see the area where coal was stored. Old oil furnace. And new gas furnace. There was even a old hot water heater the likes of which we have never seen.
Sadly the only photos are of the exterior. Mostly because I simply forgot to take any.
Librarian loved to talk and loved her town.
Neat experience.
August 11, 2016 - - Hot - - Muggy - - On to Schenectady
Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016
OK, it's gonna be hot today. The air conditioner is running already at 8:15 AM? UGH. We are hooked up, as in never unhooked last night. Having coffee and food and will get on the road as soon as we can. Headed to Schenectady NY for three nights. I hope our cash holds out to pay the tolls. LOL
No, we do not have a EZPass for this area. And, even if I buy one today, it is not good for 3 days. What silliness is that??? In Florida, the pass is usable  IMMEDIATELY!!
OKK, nuff whining.
Have a great day, be safe, and try to stay cool.
Lunch today at service plaza. Mickey dees. Picnic style. In Jolly. Too hot to leave Sir W even if we left him in Tana. Traffic heavy. It's round Boston. Missing the quiet of Nova Scotia.
Can you spell muggy? Dang.
I'll be honest, I don't remember a lot about our stay here, we may have slept most of it away - - eh??   LOL
August 10, 2016 - - Back to the USA, Wells Maine
Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016
They let us back in. Customs dude did go in Tana. He also went in rig that was in front of us.
He, in my opinion, was looking for bodies. He did not make us open the slides tho.  He looked in front room. Went up the stairs to bedroom. Looked around. Does not appear he opened any cabinets, etc. He was not in there very long.
Was very happy when we had no fresh veggies. Laughed and said good when I told him we ate them all.
Arrived Wells Maine. Too many people. Blech. Lol
Tired.  275 miles today.
(Not one photo!)
August 9, 2016 - - St. Andrews
Copyright by CABS for Reflections Visits Nova Scotia 2016
Travel two days. Rest two nights.
So no travel today.
Maybe some sightseeing tho. Supposed to be a lovely area.
St. Andrews. A very charming town. These photos show low tide.
So many charming houses. Lovely flowers.
St. Andrews downtown. The flowers are spectacular.
Downtown. Love murals. Love the one that resembles a puzzle.
Of course there is a lighthouse.
How bout a purple horse and a fish on a roof?
Why not?
Comparing. Lower tide. High tide. Today the tide rose 23 feet here.  This was a great way to finish off our visit to Canada.
