July 18, 2016 - - Quaint Seaside Abodes

Well, we have found ourselves in an interesting situation. We do not recycle, as it is not available where we live. We find ourselves in a campground/municipal area that has the strongest recycling we have ever seen. Problem, we came in with mixed garbage and we don't have the proper collection bags, etc.

For example, organics, meat, table scraps, tea bags, coffee filters, paper napkins, tissues, wet paper, etc. They want "no liner in your mini bin" What bin?? I got no bin. Followed up with, "or just use a little paper towel" AND: "if you must use a liner, please use only certified compostable bags" Ya, I got some of those.

SIGH

Well, never a dull moment, eh?? More learning curve I guess.

It is not simple. Takes a four page brochure to explain it.

The recycle brochure. Very. Very. Shiny.

They expect us to do it. Even if we are not prepared, as we are not from here. Appears it is mandated by some regulations. The campground says if not bagged/disposed of properly that it will not be picked up?? So, that tells me that the garbage teams (picker uppers) go through the four large bins outside the gate bag by bag?? Oh, oh, there is the sarcasm, my bad.

Photos from today's sightseeing. Even had a bit of sea fog in the middle of the day.  (Note:  Names from GPS on Sony, not all record, it is what it is. Enjoy the photos anyway.)

We stopped here and had a walk about, a bit of coffee and I believe a sweet treat.  It was the end of the road.
