At Annapolis Royal is one of only 5 power generating plants like this one. It has to do with tides, salt water and other interesting stuff. It is the only tidal generating station in North America. Glad Man got to see this. It's the sparky kinda thing. You can read more about it here.
What the kids do when they are bored. I am here to tell you there are a lot of bored kids.
The search for quiet led us to docks. Boats. Beaches. Lighthouses.
We found it interesting to see stabilizer boards or something "tied" to the bottom of the boats. We have not figured out how they did that tho.
And note, the first public restroom, aka, outhouse, we have ever seen tied to boulders.
The entrance to this quiet harbor was very curvy. Photos did not capture.
Rocky beach.
Flowers. I still think they are roses. See other photos.
Yes that IS a Lotus. Very. Very. Cool. Original paint.
Those people standing on the pike of rocks will be under water if they stay too long. The tides here vary about 30 to 50 feet.
And one more lighthouse. Port George. They were having one heck of a country concert. Must have been a few hundred people there. It was a Natal celebration. More on that later.
Now, go google Natal birthday celebration. It's not a big day in other areas. But it is big in Halifax. And second largest in the province is in Annapolis Royal.
Fort Ann may be one of the most beautiful forts we have seen.
And there was an encampment. Fun!
We finished off this day by walking around town a bit, taking in the flowers, quaint homes, enjoying. Exhausted, but enjoying.
Roses:
More hostas:
Still enamored by the blue in the hydrangea. I saw one that was almost royal blue. So dark it was unbelievable.
Watching for the sailors to come home.
Zoomed in. Not sure what. But pretty.
Wifi really horrible tonight campground FULL.
We had a nice day driving the coast. Lunch was yummy.
Annapolis Royal celebrating Natal weekend. Big doings here. Second only to. Halifax. Interesting stuff.
Tomorrow back to Truro. 4 nights I believe.
We have decided Nova Scotia is Maine on steroids.
